Provost of the Academy and Dean of Synthetic Biology and Ecological Science
Provost Eich is a biotechnologist, futurist, and entrepreneur with more than a decade of experience in teaching, educational media, and Open Science in both the public and private sectors in Brazil.
She has developed new approaches to teaching science and cultivating scientific thinking to empower individuals and communities. Her primary focus is in synthetic biology and entrepreneurial biohacking with experience and core competencies in Molecular Biology, CRISPR, De Novo Synthesis, and personalised medicine.
Ms. Eich holds a graduate degree in Biotechnology from State University of Maringa (UEM) where she researched Medicinal Plant Molecular Biofactories “Plant Medicinal Molecular Biofactories,” a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Science and Technology from Federal University of Alfenas (UNIFAL) and is is currently completing a Degree in Environmental Engineering at UNIFAL.
A true polymath, Provost Eich’s academic background includes a Degree in Portuguese & English Literature and a Degree in Strategy in International Trade, in which she researched Technology Transfer to Developing Countries.
ELEANOR "NELL" WATSON
Dean of Cognitive Science & Machine Intelligence
Dean Watson FBCS, FIAP, FRSA is a world-renowned autodidact engineer, entrepreneur, and futurist thinker who grew up in Northern Ireland. She is a sought-after thought leader and speaker on Machine Intelligence, AI philosophy, Human-Machine relations, and the Future oF Human Society with a longstanding interest in the philosophy of technology, and how extensions of human capacity drive emergent social trends.
In 2010 Nell founded Poikos, a machine learning-driven ‘AI for for body measurement’. Her patented technology ‘dematerialises’ the 3D body scanner by providing accurate three-dimensional scans of the body with only 2D camera hardware, such as that found in smartphones and laptops with applications in mass customization and personalised health.
Possessing a long-term mindset, Nell serves as Senior Advisor to The Future Society at Harvard University and technology advisor to several startups, accelerators, and venture capital funds. She is also Co-Founder of OpenEth.org, an ‘ethical explication engine’ that aims to crowdsource ethical heuristics for autonomous systems.
In her spare time Nell enjoys coding games such as her startup life simulator, Founder Life, which teaches mindfulness and the psychological habits necessary for entrepreneurs to consistently execute under pressure.
DR ANISH MOHAMMED
Dean of Blockchain Engineering & Technosocial Convergence
Dean Mohammed is a multidisciplinary technologist and thought leader in the emergent field of Blockchain who has worked extensively as a researcher and cryptographer in both academia and industry, including as Lead Security Architect at both HSBC and Lloyds Banking Group in London.
Dr Mohammed serves on the Advisory Board of Ripple, the Blockchain Advisory Group, and Effective Altruism Ventures, and is an advisor to numerous Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), including Hyperloop Transportation Technologies. In addition to being a Medical Doctor, he holds a MSc and PhD in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London.
Dean of Design & the Future Arts
Dean Papadopoulous is an Architect, Artist, Designer and Production Designer. He graduated in Architecture from the University of Architecture of Venice (I.U.A.V) in Italy and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice receiving his Master’s Degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1992.
Sortirios lives and works between Greece and Italy and among his many activities, he is a Professor of Industrial Design at the Fine Arts and Design Academy of Verona. Sortirios specializes in the fields of Digital Painting, public and private construction, industrial design, set design, outdoor and green design, and he works on the concept and supervision of various exhibitions.
Many of his designs are included in private collections around the globe. He considers himself to be declares to be a citizen of the world and a slave of Nature.

MARCUS VINICIUS MAESTRI
Blockchain Fellow - Europe
Marcus Vinícius Maestri is originally from Florianópolis, Brazil and is a quantum physics enthusiast, a DevOps Engineer and a Blockchain Architect for technology startups with more than a decade of experience in Software Development.
His main goal is to inspire students to recognize that their reason for existence is to pursue the things that excite them the most in life. He attended Universidade do Vale do Itajaí where he studied Business Administration and Management.
While Marcus was attending University, he founded Stup Sistemas, a company specializing in the creation of apps, internet software, cyber security solutions, online payments and cloud computing.
Living in Melbourne, the cultural capital of Australia, he put into practice his combined technical and strategic skills in areas such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Nutrition and Smart Drugs, Bitcoin & Cryptocurrencies, and Lean Startup Methods. He uses this unique mix of knowledge and experience as his secret weapon to build innovative projects that change people's lives.
Blockchain Fellow - Europe
Giovanni Riva is an alumnus of the Exosphere Academy where he joined the Biohacking stream and impressed the Exosphere leadership with his skills in the lab and his depth of knowledge in synthetic biology. He refined the biotech project he's currently working on, which he hopes to launch in the near future.
Giovanni has studied in Europe, the US, and China, gaining a broad view of the approaches to learning and science in different cultures. He is enrolled in a double degree program in Software Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and Tongji University and, attracted by the orchestrated elegance and imperfection that allow living organisms to thrive, has been exploring the fuzziness of Biology for the past several years.
AI/Python Fellow - Europe
Roberto Panai is a PhD candidate (thesis pending) in Differential Geometry and has taught mathematics at the university level for 10 years in Italy, New Zealand, and Chile. He is a returning Fellow at Exosphere, having taught Python at our 9th Cohort.
Roberto has been a passionate Linux and Open Source user since 2003 and began developing in Python in 2007 when his Wolfram Mathematica license expired and he wanted to switch to the Python-based and open-source Sage Math, which he has collaborated on as a developer in past releases.
He has extensive experience outside of academia developing pure math-related code and has created automated trading software for financial sector clients and currently works as a Data Scientist in the retail industry.
Creative Media Fellow - Europe
Simona is a serial entrepreneur with 8 years of experience in the field of enterprise education, with a strong passion to empower, connect and support aspiring entrepreneurs and startups. She has done this in multiple leadership roles internationally, designing and delivering innovative educational programs focused on all areas of business management, leadership, and mindset development.
She began her career in social enterprise when she co-founded the Enterprise Academy, acting as a startup accelerator for young entrepreneurs. She was responsible for writing funding bids, securing partnerships, and running workshops in some of the top Universities throughout the United Kingdom.
Simona is the Co-Founder and CEO of the Center of Applied Learning in the UK where her focus remains on empowering, connecting and supporting leaders through innovative & experiential educational programmes, having worked directly with more than 600 entrepreneurs nationwide.
Her Center has received several awards for innovation and impact including a National Award for Student Enterprise Education. She loves travelling, meeting interesting people and is passionate about mentoring young entrepreneurs all over the globe.
